Pipe Class
Come make your very own custom pipe with professional pipemaker and tobacco evangelist Kadesh Swanson. Traveling all the way from Washington State to give a talk at Chesterton’s and teach a class at the Workshop, Kadesh brings to bear nearly a decade of experience and a passion for the craft.
Join us for this all-day class and then go try it out with Kadesh and any classmates that wish to join.
This class will focus on the art of finishing a pipe. The careful sanding and staining process to bring out the beauty of the wood. Followed by the delicate buffing proccess to bring out a vibrant shine sure to please the eye. At the end of the day, students will leave with a finished pipe.

Kadesh Swanson is a professional pipemaker from the lush forests of Washington state. Kadesh’s passion for pipes began 10 years ago when he smoked his first pipe in a friend's garage. In that moment life long passion was born. Wanting to put his artistic talents to use, Kadesh made his first pipe in the spring of 2013. Since then his passion has led him across the country mentoring under some of the best pipemakers this country has to offer. As a faithful Catholic and theologian Kadesh has found the art of pipemaking and pipe smoking to be a valuable asset to one's own personal faith life.
— All materials, tools, hardware, and safety equipment are provided!
— Please wear long pants and closed-toed shoes. No loose clothing like baggy sleeves or scarves. Be sure to wear clothing you don't mind working in, you'll want to be comfortable and protected. We will get dusty!
