Make your very own custom cutting board! This class is beginner friendly, but an enjoyable class even for more experienced woodworkers. And everyone could use another cutting board—especially something particularly beautiful.
This particular session is customized to accommodate visitors for the New Polity Conference. For the sake of time, workshop employees will prepare wood strips in advance.
Thursday night, students will select the strips they want to use, design the pattern of their cutting board, and glue the strips together in clamps.
After the glue dries overnight the boards need to be planed, routed, sanded, and oiled. Attendees may do that Friday evening from 7:30-9pm or Saturday between the end of the conference and 7pm (when the shop closes). Or we can finish it for you to pickup Saturday evening for an additional $10.
Final boards will be approximately 12"x18"x1"
— All materials, tools, hardware, and safety equipment are provided!
— Please wear long pants and closed-toed shoes. No loose clothing like baggy sleeves or scarves. Be sure to wear clothing you don't mind working in, you'll want to be comfortable and protected. We will get dusty!

Every home needs a beautiful cutting board but when buying one it can be hard to find a pattern or colors that you like. Come take our class and make your own exactly how you envisioned it! The class is also the perfect date. Bring your significant other for no additional fee.
