Skills Class: Finishing

  • Steubenville Workshop 157 N 3rd St. Steubenville (map)

Finishing is a critical, but often overlooked step in any project. You spend hours measuring, cutting and assembling, but it only takes fifteen minutes to ruin the whole thing. In this class, Mike Sullivan will teach you about different kinds of finishes, (oils, waxes, polyurethane, stain, etc.) their advantages and disadvantages, and strategies for getting a smooth, even application. So your future projects will shine (assuming you want a shiny finish).

You’ll get your hands dirty by actually applying multiple finishes to various types of wood, and you’ll be able to keep any finish samples you want. Come learn the final critical step to any woodworking project.
